DAMON ALBARN : "EVERYDAY ROBOTS" REVIEW

Damon Albarn has always seemed most comfortable with some distance between himself and his music. As Blur's frontman, he played the tart-tongued wit, satirizing modern Britain from behind a wall of cheeky irony. With Gorillaz, he created the biggest virtual band since Kiss. Even his forays into global music – jamming with Malian guitar greats, traveling to China to write an opera – place him in the well-worn role of a worldly seeker losing himself in the exotic.

In 2012, he made a record about the life of 16th-century English mystic John Dee. But he's never really made a record about the life of 21st-century English mystic Damon Albarn. Until now. All of Albarn's musical obsessions are present on his revealing solo debut: dubby textures á la Gorillaz, Caribbean and African notes, looming classical instrumentation and church choruses that evoke England's past – all wrapped around a singing voice that's become deep and searching where it was once sharp and snarky.

The past two Gorillaz albums, Plastic Beach and The Fall, both from 2010, often had a forlorn sense of spliffed-out drift. The mood on Everyday Robots is even more sparely intimate, and often quite downbeat. Albarn is an avid collaborator who has worked with greats like Bobby Womack and Lou Reed. But his pals stay low-key here. Producer Richard Russell sculpts alluring atmospheric beats; Bat for Lashes singer Natasha Khan lends a faint harmony to the fragile relationship autopsy "The Selfish Giant"; Brian Eno adds synths to "You & Me" and vocals to the woozy chantey "Heavy Seas of Love." The results can often recall Seventies Eno at his most meditative and Village Green-era Ray Davies at his most world-sick more than Gorillaz's bounce or Blur's guitar buzz.

The opening title track sets the softly alienated tone. Albarn floats amid a sea of commuters staring at their phones – "Looking like standing stones/Out there on our own." The track mixes Eastern and Western strings, somber piano and a hobbled, percussive groove that's evocatively primitive but utterly modern. Other songs work similar musical balances while mapping out Albarn's personal history. "You & Me" takes place during a Trinidadian carnival near his West London home, with steel drums playing against an unsure digital skitter. On the album's brightest tune, "Mr. Tembo," based on a trip he took to a Tanzanian nature preserve, Albarn strums a happy ukulele and serenades a baby elephant.

The album's most revealing track is "Hollow Ponds," which moves like a sad processional and reflects on scenes from throughout Albarn's life: a childhood vacation to the Black Sea; the day when he noticed the London graffiti that inspired the title of Blur's first great album, 1993's Modern Life Is Rubbish. The reel of images seems to compete, or merge with, "the dreams we share on LCDs." As the song ends, we hear the sampled sound of a rumbling subway train. With a restless innovator like Albarn, where you're going always matters more than where you've been.

BLUR FRONTMAN DAMON ALBARN STREAMS HIS NEW ALBUM, ‘EVERYDAY ROBOTS’

Blur and Gorillaz singer Damon Albarn is streaming his new album, “Everyday Robots,” a week ahead of its scheduled release (April 28). Listen via iTunes Radio.
The 12-track album is Albarn’s first as a solo artist and features collaborations with Brian Eno and Bat for Lashes’ Natasha Khan. “Everyday Robots” explores modern society’s relationship with technology.

The album is about going back and seeing into the near future, wondering about the effect that that technology is going to have on us, emotionally. We’re in a period of massive technological transformation right now, and I wanted to comment on that.”

MTV VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS 2014 TO RETURN TO LOS ANGELES (24.08.2014)

Live from Inglewood!

After visiting New York last year, the MTV Video Music Awards announced Wednesday that the show is returning to the West Coast this summer to become the first major awards ceremony broadcast from the storied Forum in Inglewood, Calif.

For decades, the "Fabulous Forum," as it was known, hosted some of the world's biggest musical talents, from Bob Dylan to the Rolling Stones. But in recent years, the arena and its working-class neighborhood near the LA airport fell on hard times as newer, hipper venues gained favor.

Then, after a $100 million makeover, the Forum reopened in January as the largest indoor entertainment venue in the country. It has already hosted such acts as the Eagles and Justin Timberlake. The 2014 VMAs will air on Sunday, Aug. 24.

PHARRELL WILLIAMS “MARILYN MONROE” (OFFICIAL SINGLE COVER)

Pharrell Williams continues promoting his acclaimed second solo studio album ‘G I R L‘, released on digital retailers on March 3, 2014 via Columbia Records.

After the worldwide success of the first single ‘Happy‘, main theme of ‘Despicable 2‘, the omnipresent producer has chosen the next single from the album. The album’s opening track ‘Marilyn Monroe‘ was released as second single on March 10, 2014. It features uncredited vocals from English singer-songwriter Kelly Osbourne.

The song was written by Williams and Ann Marie Calhoun and produced by Williams. It’s the only song on the album that Williams didn’t write by himself. The song’s production is characterized by Williams’ signature “skittering” beat and “bumping” bass line.
The official music video will premiere on VEVO later today.

LISTEN: BLONDIE'S NEW SONG + BLONDIE TO RELEASE 40TH ANNIVERSARY DOUBLE-DISC PACKAGE

In celebration of their 40th Anniversary as a band, Blondie will release a special double-disc package entitled Blondie 4(0) Ever on May 13, 2014 via NOBLE ID / ESMG.

It will include an incredible collection of new songs entitled Ghosts of Download, and an album entitled Deluxe Redux: Greatest Hits, featuring brand new studio recordings of the band’s biggest songs. The iconic Andy Warhol “Debbie Harry” portrait is the cover art for the greatest hits album.

Ghosts of Download, which follows 2011′s critically acclaimed LP Panic of Girls, promises to offer some of the most infectious and memorable songs of Blondie’s catalogue. According to the press release, the album, which features production work from Jeff Saltzman, is an exhilarating mix of dance-floor-ready sounds, with more than a little pop radio flavor stirred into it and a few surprises along the way.

“A Rose By Any Name,” is a cool electronic pulse of a duet for Harry and Beth Ditto of the Gossip. “Drag You Around” and “Backroom,” a sly tale of after-hours vampire group-groping, boast reggae grooves, while a cover of Frankie Goes To Hollywood’s infamous eighties anthem, “Relax,” is turned into a slow, echo-chambered secular prayer before morphing into a more familiar thumping acid-house beat.

Other album guests include downtown New York City club fixture Miss Guy (on “Rave”), Columbian Cumbia/hip hop/R&B group Systema Solar (“Sugar on the Side”) and Oakland–based Panamanian rappers Los Rakas (“I Screwed up”).

Fans who pre-order the digital album via iTunes will receive three additional Ghosts of Download bonus tracks with the album. The iTunes pre-order also exclusively comes with an instant free download of the new song “I Want To Drag You Around.” The single “Sugar on the Side” is available right now on iTunes.

NEW SONG: BOOTS & BEYONCE – ‘DREAMS’

Hitmaker BOOTS helped Beyonce piece together her recent blockbuster album – creating cuts such as ‘Haunted’ and ‘Heaven’. Hence it’s little surprise that the superstar singer was willing to return the favour. King B re-teams with the singer/songwriter/producer on his new track, christened ‘Dreams’.

Boots: So this is the last song on my mixtape.
My friend and I recorded it recently and while we were trying to figure out what to do with it, we had an idea.
A while back I promised myself that if I ever had the opportunity to help others, or give back in some way, I would seize it. A friend recently told me about a non-profit organization called “Day One” here in NYC. In their words, “Day One is the only organization in New York City solely devoted to the issue of teen dating violence.”
I feel that protecting women from these horrible and unthinkable acts should take precedence in our society. I feel passionate about this because if more women knew that safe places existed from the turmoil they experience, it could possibly prevent these situations from occurring or reoccurring.
Every cent made from this song will go directly to Day One
It’s hard to put into words how thankful I am for everything and everyone who helped get this together. I’ve experienced a lot in my life. Good and bad. But through it all, I’m certain every one of those things had to happen to get me right where I am today. I feel very fortunate for that. Thanks for all of your love and support.

NEW MUSIC : FEVER HIGH 'THAT'S SO TYPICAL'

BEYONCE FILMED "UNKNOWN PROJECT"

She’s back at it.

Since springing a surprise album on the masses last December, Beyonce has developed quite the knack for shock and awe. Indeed, in the months that followed the release of the mega-selling set, queen B has made it routine to pop up at award shows unannounced, release unanticipated commercials, and be an all-round enigma. It’s a trend that looks set to continue, if the shot above is anything to by.

Posted on Twitter by Beyonce Legion – one of the superstar’s most popular (and reliable) fan accounts, the collage shows the singer on set of an “unknown” project.

Could it be a new commercial? Music video?
Or perhaps a visual for her all-but-confirmed tour with Jay-Z?

LISTEN: JENNIFER LOPEZ FEAT. FRENCH MONTANA, BIG SEAN, TYGA & DJ KHALED – I LUH YA PAPI (REMIX)

Jennifer Lopez links up with the big dogs on the official remix to her latest single “I Luh Ya Papi”.

J.Lo calls on DJ Khaled, Big Sean, Tyga, and French Montana to remake the track. The original song is set to come off J.Lo’s 10th studio album that is set for release on June 17. The album is also set to feature appearances from Maxwell and Robin Thicke.

It seems like the group got together for a video to the remix, so be sure to check back for that.

COACHELLA 2014: ARCADE FIRE SET FEATURES 'DAFT PUNK' SURPRISE

Two robots in white join the night three headliners for the song "Get Lucky."
Also: Beck makes an appearance.

Coachella 2014 has featured a slew of unannounced guests over its two-weekend bow, but perhaps the biggest surprise of all came on Sunday night as Arcade Fire performed its headlining slot.
It was then that frontman Win Butler announced "some very special guests and we're just going to bring them up up front." Some in the crowd claim to have heard Butler say "Paft Dunk."

Enter: what looked to be the two members of Daft Punk dressed all in white and wearing their trademark robot hats. They proceeded to perform a slowed-down, slinky version of "Get Lucky," their summer smash from last year. It is unclear, however, whether the two were in fact Daft Punk members Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo or if Arcade Fire were simply punking the Coachella audience.

After all, during the band's weekend one set, Butler criticized the overabundance of EDM acts by dedicating a song "for all the bands at this festival playing real instruments." Perhaps he was pulling one over on the crowd.

So far, neither reps for Daft Punk or Arcade Fire have confirmed if the appearance was legit.

Towards the end of the set, Beck appeared to sing a cover of Prince's "Controversy" with the band. The artist wore the same pope costume that Breaking Bad actor Aaron Paul donned the previous weekend.

AVICII “LAY ME DOWN” (OFFICIAL SINGLE COVER)

Swedish hitmaker, record producer and deejay Avicii continues promoting his acclaimed debut studio album ‘True‘, released on digital retailers on September 13, 2013 via PRMD, and Universal Records.

After ‘Addicted to You’, released on April 7, he has ready the next one. The fifth official single taken from the album is the track ‘Lay Me Down‘, the song was co-written by Avicii with Ash Pournouri, Nile Rodgers and Adam Lambert, who also put the vocals.

The single was officially at Australian radio on Monday April 21.

RICKY MARTIN - VIDA (VIDEO TEASER)

Puerto Rican artist Ricky Martin is ready to conquer the World Cup again with a new song.

The singer-songwriter and The Voice Australia coach has recorded an official track for the 2014 World Cup entitled ‘Vida‘, a track written by Elijah King, an American singer-songwriter of Puerto Rican heritage. Sony Music Entertainment confirmed that King is the winner of Sony’s “SuperSong” World Cup song contest.

The bilingual English and Spanish-language song ‘Vida‘, which has a tropical pop vibe, will be produced by Salaam Remi and it’s scheduled for release on digital retailers in late-March. It will be included on FIFA partner Sony’s official 2014 World Cup album, to be released on RCA in May.

This is Martin’s second World Cup song, and the official music video was filmed in Brazil in March, to be included in a TV special that will air on Sony Pictures TV channels in May. Remember, Martin’s previous World Cup song, 1998′s ‘La copa de la vida‘ (English: ‘The Cup of Life‘), became one of the most outstanding success throughout his music career, making the singer performed it at the 1998 Grammy Awards.

The song will be included on the official FIFA World Cup album ‘One Love, One Rhythm – The 2014 FIFA World Cup Official Album‘, scheduled to be released on digital retailers on May 13 via Sony Music.

ANOTHER DELAY FOR MARIAH CAREY?

If you've been waiting patiently for Mariah Carey's new album to drop on May 6th ever since seeing that grandiose YouTube video of the diva listing all of her many accomplishments, then you're going to be very disappointed. Although Mimi hasn't confirmed anything herself, the album has been removed from the release schedule on both Hits Double Daily and Island's official website.

The possible pushback comes after the poor performance of Mimi's last single, "You're Mine (Eternal)", which peaked briefly at No. 88 on the Hot 100 before completely disappearing.

The album was originally due out in March of last year, but has consistently been delayed for various reasons. There's been criticism of how the album's been managed, with L.A. Reid recently throwing some Twitter shade at Mimi's current manager, producer Jermaine Dupri.

COLDPLAY “MIDNIGHT” (GIORGIO MORODER REMIX – PREMIERE)

Midnight‘ is a song written by Guy Berryman, Jonny Buckland, Will Champion and Chris Martin of British alternative rock band Coldplay along with producer Jon Hopkins. The song was originally recorded by the band for their sixth studio album ‘Ghost Stories‘. It appears as the fifth track on the album.

A 5-minute music video for the single, directed by Mary Wigmore, was premiered on VEVO on 25 February 2014. The video was shot nearly in its entirety in hyperspectral imaging and negative imagery, incorporating various visual effects.

The single, featuring the ‘Ghost Stories‘ track on a single side of the record, was released on iTunes 19 April 2014, becoming the second release by the band in promotion of the album. The band released a 8-minutes remix made by Italian record producer and deejay Giorgio Moroder on digital retailers on April 21.

BECK COVERS PRINCE AT ARCADE FIRE'S COACHELLA SHOW

The set also featured two Daft Punk look-alikes playing 'Get Lucky'

Arcade Fire's streak of wacky concert bobblehead guest appearances remains intact. Toward the end of their headlining Coachella set Sunday night, the band brought out alt-rock legend Beck (wearing an Easter-appropriate Pope Francis bobblehead) for a cover of Prince's 1981 funk classic "Controversy," as Billboard reports.
This wasn't the band's first time tackling the Purple One, having already covered "Controversy" last month in Minneapolis.

During that performance, frontman Win Butler displayed another strange fashion accessory, donning a digital head-box which displayed the faces of Prince and Michele Bachmann. (That wild set also featured snippets of Lady Gaga's "Do What U Want," Black Eyed Peas' "I Gotta Feeling," Guns N' Roses' "Sweet Child O' Mine" and Aerosmith's "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing.") Arcade Fire also squeezed in one more goofy collaboration at Coachella 2014 – sort of. Earlier in the set, Butler promised the band would be bringing out "some very special guests," and some audience members claimed to hear him say "Paft Dunk," a gibberish variation on electronic kings Daft Punk.

This led to a slow-motion cover of the latter band's 2013 smash "Get Lucky," featuring two performers dressed in Daft Punk-styled robot costumes. Given Arcade Fire's recent on-stage silliness, it's unclear whether the two robots were actually the real Daft Punk members (Thomas Bangalter and Guy Manuel de Homem-Christo) or just a pair of costumed roadies.

The first option seems unlikely: During the band's previous Coachella set, Butler poked fun at the fest's EDM-heavy lineup by dedicating a song to "all the bands at this festival playing real instruments." Add Beck and "Paft Dunk" to the ever-growing list of performers who've graced the stage with Arcade Fire on their Reflektor tour: The band's first Coachella set featured Debbie Harry on a cover of Blondie's "Heart of Glass"; meanwhile, earlier this month, Strokes frontman Julian Casablancas helped fake out an Argentine audience by donning a Win Butler bobblehead.

COACHELLA 2014: PHARRELL TAPS JAY Z, T.I. USHER FOR ANOTHER GUEST-FILLED SET

Following his set at last week's Coachella Festival, fans wondered if Pharrell Williams could possibly have any more surprises up his sleeve. After all, his hour on April 12 included sit ins from Gwen Stefani (“Hollaback Girl”), Nelly (“Hot in Herre”), and Snoop Dogg (“Drop It Like It's Hot”); anyone else would either have called in all of their favors or have the same ones returned in their second week

Not so for Williams: his emminently likeable set was propelled by a phalanx of multi-cultural dancers, a spot-on band, Williams' winning, charming personality, and another onslaught of special guests, with only one repeat: Busta Rhymes, who blasted his way once again through “Pass The Courvoisier Pt 2.”

But other than that, it was newness in the guest department. Rapper T.I. appeared first, reprising his roll in this summer's chart-topper, “Blurred Lines.” He was followed by Clipse frontman Pusha T (“Grindin'”), R&B hitman Usher, who sang the Pharrell-written “U Don't Have to Call,” and main man (and perrenial Coachella attendee) Jay Z, who joined Pharrell for an extended cameo on “Frontin',” “Excuse Me Miss,” “La La La (Exuse Me Miss Again),” and “I Just Wanna Love U (Give it 2 Me).”

Though Pharrell didn't “take it all the way back” as he promised (that would have meant breaking out the Wreckx-N-Effects classic “Rumpshaker”), the hitmaker parade was just a reminder of the scope of his work. Pharrell's sets both weekends were packed with huge songs (including his collab with Daft Punk, “Get Lucky,” and his current megasmash, “Happy”), and didn't even touch all of the corners of his catalog; his work with Justin Timberlake, for instance, went wholly unrecognized, as did his collaborations with Azaelia Banks, and, even much of his current solo record, “Girl.” It didn't matter one bit: this was a variety show of the highest degree, with the best MC the Coachella masses could hope for.

With temperate weather and overall high spirits, the rest of the day could also count many highlights. Muse brought out the big guns production wise, with guitarist Matt Bellamy and bassist Christopher Wolstenholme riding cages on the ends of massive cranes into the audience during “Uprising,” a stunt they couldn't pull off the first week due to weahter. MGMT and Kid Cudi traded guest spots during each other's sets, with Cudi breaking out dance moves to “Electric Feel,” and the psych-rockers playing through Cudi's “The Pursuit of Happiness.” Nas's 20th anniversary performance of “Illmatic” also ended up a run through of new guests, with Damian Marley and Lauryn Hill helping pay homage to the classic album.

CHERYL COLE NEW SINGLE WILL BE RELEASED ON JUNE 1

The world never be the same again. All ready! English recording artist, songwriter, dancer and television personality Cheryl Cole is coming back to slay all your faves. The singer has been working in the studio since last summer shaping her expected fourth solo studio album, still untitled, scheduled to be released this year via Polydor UK.

The first official single, it’s a summer feel-good song rumored to be called ‘Crazy Stupid Love‘, it will be premiered exclusively on the 2014 Britain’s Got Talent finale on Saturday May 31 and will be released on digital retailers immediately after.

According Daily Star and Mirror, the former Girls Aloud singer will perform her brand new super secret single on the show and will be the first time the single will be heard. This therefore rules out a possible premiere which had set for May 10.

On this new album, we know that the singer has worked with Jesse Shatkin, including a hip-hop track co-written with MoZella and Jon Bellion (Eminem, ‘The Monster’), as well as a ballad. She also worked with her Girls Aloud bandmade Nicole Roberts and English songwriter Camille Purcell.

Among the titles confirmed for this project we know so far: ‘I Don’t Care‘ and ‘Punch‘.
It was also announced that Cole would return as a judge on the UK version of The X Factor for its eleventh series, signing a £1.5 million contract.

JENNIFER LOPEZ FILMED THE MUSIC VIDEO FOR NEW SINGLE!

Jenny from the block continues promoting her upcoming eighth studio album and tenth overall, still untitled, scheduled to be released on June 17 via Capitol Records. After releasing her latest and something more urban single ‘I Luh Ya Papi‘ with French Montana, Jennifer Lopez has ready the next one.

The singer filmed the official music video of her new single, still untitled, this weekend in Los Angeles. The song is a midtempo pop production with piano. The casting of the video was commissioned by David Kang.
We are looking for a Puerto Rican or Puerto Rican looking model. Must have chiseled body. Looking for tattoos and have a shaved or extremely short hair. Also looking for a cool looking Piano Player.(20-50) Will be accompanying J.Lo when she sings. Must really know how to play Piano well. Must have a cool look
The protagonist of the video alongside Lopez is the Puerto Rican model Elvis Rivera. The single is scheduled to be released in May.

CHRISTINA AGUILERA CONFIRMS NEW ALBUM

After waving farewell to ‘The Voice USA’ to enjoy maternity leave during its seventh cycle, Christina Aguilera has confirmed that 2014 will see her write, record and release new material for a brand new studio album!

JAY Z & BEYONCE TO EMBARK ON SUMMER STADIUM TOUR?

Jay Z and Beyonce could be coming to a stadium near you. According to reports, hip hop’s golden couple is set to announce a 20-stadium U.S. tour that will start in late June.
The claims are published in the N.Y. Post’s Page Six column. There's also a hint that the trek would pull into New York for July 4. Reps for the Carters, the reigning champs of the Billboard Power 100 list, haven’t yet confirmed or denied the speculation.

But sources tell Billboard that they'll likely soon be announcing a 20-25 stadium tour run going from June to August, tickets going on sale in May.
Jay and Bey have a habit of making "surprise" guest appearances at each other’s shows, so a full-scale joint tour wouldn’t be a stretch. And they're in good shape for another live run.

They made separate cameos at Coachella on the weekend, and the artists recently bagged more than 180 combined dates on their global tours. Hov’s 52-date “Magna Carter” tour finished in January, while Bey’s 132-date “Mrs. Carter Show” trek ended in March.
The husband-and-wife team most recently appeared on stage together for a rendition of “Drunk In Love” when Beyonce’s tour reached its climax in Lisbon, Portugal.

NO COMMENT FOR JUSTIN BIEBER'S DEPORTATION PETITION FROM THE WHITE HOUSE

The White House has refused to comment on a petition started in January to deport Justin Bieber following his Miami arrest for DUI, resisting arrest, and driving with an expired license, reports Us Magazine. "Deport Justin Bieber and Revoke His Green Card" received almost 275,000 signatures, well over the 100,000 minumum that requires an official White House response.

"Thanks for your petition and your participation in We the People," the statement reads. "Sorry to disappoint, but we won’t be commenting on this one." Taking the opportunity to comment on immigration reform, the statement continues, "Independent economists say immigration reform will grow our economy and shrink our deficits by almost $1 trillion in the next 20 years. For those of you counting at home, that’s 12.5 billion concert tickets -- or 100 billion copies of Mr. Bieber's debut album." "So we'll leave it to others to comment on Mr. Bieber’s case, but we’re glad you care about immigration issues," it finishes.

U.S. immigration law states that authorities do not revoke an individual's visa (Bieber is living in the U.S. thanks to an O-1 visa, issued to anyone with "extraordinary ability or achievement" in their field, including the arts) unless the person has been convicted of a violent crime or been sentenced to more than one year imprisonment, neither of which are applicable to DUI offenses.

On April 14, Bieber was a no-show at his latest court hearing on a recent charge of assaulting a limo driver, Abdul Mohar, after leaving a Toronto nightclub in December of last year.

Between making the legal rounds (or not), Bieber found time to join Chance the Rapper onstage at Coachella, where the two performed the singer's track "Confident," featuring the Chicago MC.

GWEN STEFANI MAY BE HEADED FOR "THE VOICE"

“HOME” (ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK) | “THE CONCEPT ALBUM” BY RIHANNA

The world must be ready, Rihanna is coming! She has been created a concept album based on DreamWorks Animation’s toon film entitled ‘Home‘, scheduled to hit theaters in November 26, 2014 through 20th Century Fox. The Barbadian pop star is set to perform new songs in the film.

DWA chief Jeffrey Katzenberg confirmed the news during the company’s fourth quarter and full 2013 year earnings results on Tuesday February 25.

The film directed by Tim Johnson and formerly known as ‘Happy Smekday!‘, is based on Adam Rex’s book ‘The True Meaning of Smekday‘ and features the voices of Rihanna (as Tip), Jim Parsons (as Oh), Jennifer Lopez and Steve Martin. About the concept album, DreamWorks CEO confirmed:
The concept album is not a general soundtrack, but a studio record with Rihanna on the bandwagon, and with her chart-dominating ways, it is only expected for the crew, Rihanna and her world class songwriting creative team to pull off an album that is almost expected to perform exceptionally on the charts, radios and other music platforms. It is not one, two or three songs but an entire collection that maintains a theme and unified story. This is what really sets ‘Home‘ apart. It is also necessary to underline that it is not a musical.

ALLERGIC REACTION FOR MILEY CYRUS : POSTPONED U.S TOUR

Miley Cyrus has postponed the remaining U.S. dates for her Bangerz tour after falling ill from an allergic reaction to antibiotics. The Associated Press reports that seven shows have been rescheduled, and the tour will resume on August 1st with a stop in Uniondale, New York.

Cyrus was hospitalized on April 15th and placed on medical rest by her doctors, forcing her to cancel shows in Kansas City and St. Louis, Us Weekly reports. She had canceled her Charlotte, North Carolina show the previous week because of what was reported at the time to be a flu-like illness. "Miley was suffering from a sinus infection during her tour," said an official statement that Cyrus posted to Twitter on Thursday. "She was prescribed the antibiotic Cephalexin which she's now suffered an allergic reaction to.

This type of extreme reaction can last from five to 27 days in these types of cases. She will remain hospitalized and is under a doctor's care until we see some improvement in her condition and is asking for your compassion and privacy at this time.

Miley is devastated about missing shows and possibly disappointing her fans." (Cyrus posted the note along with the message, "Shut the fuck up & let me heal. Stop scaring my family, friends, & fans.") Cyrus is still scheduled to kick off the European leg of her tour on May 2nd in Amsterdam. Her rescheduled U.S. tour dates will run between August 1st and August 14th, with two additional shows in Pittsburgh and Chicago.

JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE AT LONDON'S O2 ARENA - LIVE REVIEW

If the somewhat lukewarm reaction to the second instalment of Justin Timberlake's studio return - last year's The 20/20 Experience - 2 of 2 - left the unexpectedly sour taste that the former 'N Sync man may have fallen from the all-singing, all-dancing perfect popstar perch he once occupied, then tonight is when JT shows a firm middle finger to the doubters.

As the computerised pulses of behemoth dancefloor anthem 'SexyBack' bring the two-hour set (the first of two nights at the London venue and the start of an extensive tour) nearly to a close, there's a moment when the music pauses just long enough for Timberlake, having seemingly barely broken a sweat, to look the arena dead in the eyes.

"I still run this bitch," he smirks with the knowing grin of someone at the peak of their power, before kicking back into the track as if nothing happened. It's a brief second of overblown, playful, cocky genius (everything a popstar should be) and, for the 120 minutes previous to this, Justin justifies the brag entirely.

Emerging onto a sleek, monochrome set complete with big-band-style plinths, a full band, brass section, backing singers, suit-clad dancers and a screen showing various shots that resemble a high-end car commercial, 'The 20/20 Experience Live' is visually like Michael Jackson pulling a Sinatra. Of course, Sinatra likely didn't have a portion of the stage on wheels that elevated, Transformer-style, allowing the singer to move up and down the venue, passing over screaming fans' heads like a smiling pop god, but let's not dwell on the specifics.

Timberlake, meanwhile, opts for two simple outfits - a black and white suit and a black and black suit. It's an aesthetic that represents the entire show: slick and classy, but persistently laced with a very evident sexual throb.

See, despite the large and very audible quota of giddy prepubescent girls here, JT live is often a more-than-PG-rated experience. Aside from the obvious lyrical fixations of opener 'Pusher Love Girl' (which equates the object of his lust to an addictive drug dealer), we get 'Tunnel Vision' - backed by a screen showing various topless, writhing females - and 'Drink You Away' - preceded by a long spiel about how fun it is to get drunk. If this were Robin Thicke, there would be outrage, but as the kind of guy your mother would approve of, Timberlake's wholesome hometown-boy appeal keeps it just on the right side of risqué.

As for the set, it rarely falters. An early cluster of 'Rock Your Body', 'FutureSex/LoveSound', 'Like I Love You' and a revamped 'My Love' (opening with a stripped-back, spotlit piano before dropping the beat) segue seamlessly into each other, the singer only stopping to gee up the crowd further at opportune intervals, while first half set-closer 'Cry Me a River' is still the best thing he's ever done. 'Until the End of Time' sees the singer take to a huge, white grand piano, and covers of Elvis's 'Heartbreak Hotel' and Michael Jackson's 'Human Nature' find him strumming an acoustic guitar, while the singer even raps (and well) at various intervals.

But if there's one thing Justin really can do, it's dance. And tonight the immaculately choreographed routines that dominate the set are so flawlessly fluid it's as though his entire body is made of liquid. Not for nothing has JT been dubbed the new MJ.

He finishes with 'Suit & Tie', 'SexyBack' and recent sing-a-long anthem 'Mirrors', having mined two hours of one of the most prolifically hit-packed pop careers in recent times. No one is in any doubt that Justin does, indeed, still run this bitch.

LISTEN: PRINCE RELEASES SURPRISE NEW SINGLE 'THE BREAKDOWN'

Prince has released a surprise new single, reports Rolling Stone.

'The Breakdown' was released last night (April 18) and is available to download on iTunes now. You can listen to the song at the bottom of the page. The release came less than a day after Prince announced he had re-signed to Warner Bros after 17 years.

The Minneapolis singer has signed a deal which will see him regain ownership of his back catalogue, while his albums 'Dirty Mind', 'Controversy' and '1999' will continue to be licensed through the label as part of a new global agreement.

The deal also means 'Purple Rain' will be remastered as a deluxe, remastered edition to coincide with the 30th anniversary in June. Warner Bros have also stated they will release a new album from Prince, with "other projects set to follow".

"A brand-new studio album is on the way and both Warner Bros Records and Eye (sic) are quite pleased with the results of the negotiations and look forward to a fruitful working relationship," Prince said in a statement.

HURTS START WORK ON THIRD ALBUM

Hurts have revealed that they have started work on the follow up to their second album, 'Exile', which was released earlier this year.

Speaking to Gigwise about what direction their third LP would take, frontman Theo Hutchcraft said: "We've started writing songs, but there's a variety of paths that we can go down."

He revealed: "For us, it's always really exciting because we never really know where we're going. I guess we make pop music, but there are lots of different forms that it can take and we never really know where it's going to until we start making music."

Hutchcraft added that fans of the synthpop duo won't have to wait too long to hear their new album. "It's definitely not going to be as long a wait this time, we want to keep working.
The gap between albums last time was two and a half years, which was because we got swept up in it and had no time, but now we're constantly making music and new things...".

Hurts released their debut album 'Happiness' in 2010.

LILY ALLEN “SHEEZUS” (OFFICIAL SINGLE COVER)

Lily Allen continues promoting her upcoming third studio album ‘Sheezus‘, scheduled to be release on May 5, 2014 via Parlophone and Warner Bros Records. The single has ready another single before its arrival at digital retailers.

The album’s title and opening track ‘Sheezus‘ will be released as the final countdown / promotional single on iTunes on April 28th. The song produced by DJ Dahi serves as the follow-up to her latest single ‘Our Time, released on March 10th and will be the fifth overall single taken from this era.

AVRIL LAVIGNE “HELLO KITTY” (OFFICIAL SINGLE COVER)

The punk girl who never grows Avril Lavigne is trying to continue promoting her latest self-titled album and fifth of her career ‘Avril Lavigne‘, released on November 1, 2013 via Epic Records.

After the moderate success of her latest single ‘Let Me Go‘, a beautiful ballad for piano with her husband Chad Kroeger, the singer and her fanbase have been waiting day after day the confirmation of the next and fourth official single from the album.

It appeared that Epic definitely left the promotion, but eventually, the bad omens haven’t been realized.

The fourth official single from the album and first for the Asian market is ‘Hello Kitty‘, a strong pop and pseudo-dubstep production, with a very different sound to what she had previously released.

It was co-written by herself in collaboration of Martin Johnson, Chad Kroeger, David Hodges and it was produced by Johnson, Kroeger, Hodges, Kyle Moorman and Brandon Paddock.

Get ready to be slayed! The singer confirmed ‘Hello Kitty‘ as next Asian single on Twitter on February 27.

The music video will premiere on VEVO on Monday April 21.

LANA DEL REY’S “WEST COAST” HEADED FOR IMPRESSIVE CHART DEBUT

Lana Del Rey‘s breezy new single “West Coast” is headed for a strong debut on Billboard’s Hot 100 next week. The atmospheric Dan Auerbach-produced anthem should land in the top 50 (it could go higher) on the back of 110,000 to 120,000 first-week download sales.

It will become the Ultraviolence diva’s fourth entry on the countdown.

This is a promising debut for several reasons. Lana’s hasn’t promoted the song outside of her rambling Coachella set, radio airplay is currently minimal and there’s no video to prop up streaming numbers.

When/if those factors change, the 27-year-old could have another “Summertime Sadness”-sized hit on her hands. If nothing else, it proves that the faithful is hungry for new material.

‘THE PINK PRINT’: NICKI MINAJ HINTS AT SURPRISE ALBUM RELEASE

Then, after retweeting a number of her fans’ surprised responses to her message, she added:
