By himself, Ry X makes lush folk-tinged gems. With DJ Adam Freeland and producer Steve Nalepa, though, the Australian singer-songwriter’s tracks are transformed into electronic-driven experiments. ‘Creeper’, a new cut from the trio's debut album 'Liminal' (due out June 2), casts shadows around Ry’s haunting vocals as he mutters sometimes nonsensical (“I wanna touch you in a painted stone”), sometimes predatory (“I wanna love you like a creeper knows”) lines over stuttering bass and sporadic rattling beats that shock new life into the dark track.
